A Message from our Presidents

Welcome to our new Level Creek families and welcome back to our “old” families.  It is hard to believe that another school year is here and we are all getting back into our routines and all the things that are familiar.  Our committees have been working hard over the summer to plan events for the 2019-20 school year that will be fun for all ages!  Be on the lookout for fun, family activities provided and hosted by the Level Creek PTA.

Speaking of familiar, are you familiar with the Level Creek PTA?  We are so happy to announce that over 470 members have joined the LCE PTA!  That is in large part to our amazing Membership Committee co-chairmen, Shellie Edge and Eileen Hill. They have put in hours and hours of work over the summer trying to put together options that our families find beneficial and convenient.  Kudos to these two ladies and to all of you who have joined to support the awesome programs our PTA is able to provide.  The programs and events would not be possible without your support.  If you haven’t joined the PTA already it is NOT too late.  Go online at MyPaymentsPlus.com and sign up!  Joining the PTA is not signing your life away, but is saying to your student and school community they matter and you are happy to support the efforts to provide a top class educational experience for your student.

You will start to hear the buzz in the coming days about our annual Fall Fundraiser which runs September 16-20.  We will kick off our fundraiser with a pep rally on September 13 and celebrate the conclusion and success with the PAW Parade on September 20.  The Fall Fundraiser is run in-house and entirely by volunteers.  By in-house it means we are not paying an outside company to run the fundraiser so every dollar brought in stays at Level Creek Elementary to benefit our incredible students and teachers.  Every dollar truly does count and matters more than you know.

Our fundraiser does not involve selling wrapping paper or cookie dough.  It does not involve selling anything at all!  We have tried to make it simple and easy for our LCE families.  We hear stories every year of some students going door-to-door in their neighborhoods to collect money for the fundraiser or setting up a lemonade stand with all proceeds going to the fundraiser.  Some students have vacuumed more during the week of fundraiser than they have in their lives to earn a little more money to contribute toward their personal and class goals. Make it fun and keep it simple!

If you are looking to get involved in the PTA, please look at our new and improved webpage www.levelcreekpta.org or also check out our Facebook page.  You will find opportunities to lend your time and talents to a single event or ongoing needs.  Please check back with the website often to learn about new events and all things LCE PTA.

We look forward to an amazing school year and want you to be a part of it. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to email president@levelcreekpta.org. We are always open to hearing from you!

Enjoy the school year!  Thank you for your support of the Level Creek Elementary PTA.

Your Co-Presidents,

Tracy Dhinsa and Katie LeCraw

Reflections is coming soon! This year’s theme is “Look Within,” and LCES will be accepting entries in literature, visual arts, photography, music composition, and special artist. Now is a great time for students to start working on their entries! Please visit the PTA Facebook page and website for more information, and watch for fliers coming home in Friday Folders!

All Pro Dads

All Pro Dads is meeting on Sept 20th at 7:30 am in the Cafeteria.
We will be exploring Self Control as we enjoy breakfast, fun and games with Dads and kids!

Square 1 Art

The Level Creek Square 1 Art Fundraiser is coming!

Be on the lookout for order catalogs arriving at the end of October giving you the chance to purchase your child’s artwork reproduced on useful and personalized keepsakes. Orders will be delivered just in time for the holidays! Proceeds from this fundraiser are used to install a commemorative tile wall for each Level Creek 5th grade class. The art tile walls make the halls of our school cheerful and special, allowing each student to leave a lasting memory at Level Creek. Thank you for your support!

Environmental Committee Update

All of the garden areas were freshened up before school started! When the weather cools down and we head into fall, we plan to plant fresh crops in the Whole Foods garden, till the ground and add more native plants to the butterfly garden, and add some more hydrangeas to the main entrance.

We also want to get the kids involved in planning, planting, watering and weeding the gardens where appropriate. Hopefully we will have some fresh produce to harvest for the kids as well!

Spirit Wear Fridays Are Back!

Thank you so much to everyone who has purchased a Level Creek T-shirt or sweatshirt! The Spirit Wear Committee has been busy fulfilling all of the orders we have received thus far. Orders from Open House have been delivered to classrooms with the exception of the black world shirt. That one will be processed with our next order from Curriculum Night and Friday folders. Delivery will be shortly after Labor Day.

Make sure your child wears Spirit Wear every FRIDAY!

Grade level contests begin September 13th!  Prizes will be given to the class on each grade level with the most participation! We can’t wait to see your Level Creek pride!!!!

Faculty & Staff

We are looking for volunteers to bake 2 dozen birthday cupcakes on specific dates, as well as volunteers to provide some food dishes on early release days. We’d love to hear from anyone who might be interested in helping with this. Please email elishawiggins@charter.net for more information or to be added to our volunteer list! Thank you!

It’s official! PTA member packets are on the way. Look for them to come home with your student in the coming days. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to email the membership committee at membership@levelcreekpta.org.
Thanks for your support!

Science Fair

This year’s fair will be a STEM FAIR!  The county will provide problems to choose from, so there’s no pressure to create your own.  Individuals or teams of up to 3 students will be able to design a solution, build it and test the outcomes.  The Problems will be released early in October, but now is a great time to start forming your teams.  Students K-5 may participate.  The top 3 projects in grades 3-5 will go to the county competition.  If you have questions please contact Ms. Kelson. Special Events

The PTA Special Events Committee has been busy planning several family fun events for this school year. We invite all of our Level Creek Families to attend these events to show support for our PTA and to enjoy time together with family and friends!

We are excited to announce our first event of the year, the “Party On The Playground,” to be held on Friday, September 20th from 6-8:30 pm. This will be a FREE event and will be the perfect opportunity for everyone to see our brand new REFRESHED school playground that was made possible by all the PTA fundraising last school year! We will have hotdogs, chips, snowcones, drinks, and more for everyone to enjoy. We will also have music, family relays and games, so come on out and have some Level Creek fun!!
